ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

We have been very fortunate to have traveled to so many wonderful places:  Australia, Egypt, China, Japan, South America, Europe, Hawaii, the Caribbean and Mexico.  It has been such a wonderful learning experience for our entire family.  I am also a certified scuba diver (having been initiated in the freezing cold ocean and glorious kelp beds at Catalina Island) and dove The Great Barrier Reef!

Seventeen years ago, when my son was very young, I made up a story about an octopus coming to life, after watching an octopus we had in our salt water aquarium. I wrote Nicky's Nocturnal Octopus, went to my local library, checked out books and learned how to submit a children's story to publishing companies. After years of receiving the standard form rejection letters, reality took hold and my deflated ego and anticipated new life as an author were stashed away in a storage box.

In 2006 I turned 50. That BIG number made me think about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life and the dream of writing resurfaced. Having traveled most of the world, I began incorporating events from my favorite city, Paris into the first of my romance novels, In Search of...The Ultimate Reward, which will be followed-up with two sequels. While working on my first novel, I decided to find that box with my octopus story and make something happen with it. In 2008, Nicky's Nocturnal Octopus was published and a year later my second children's book, Princess Andrea's Birthday Surprise, became a reality as well. This story was written for my daughter about a pet duck she used to have.

Working a full-time job at a law firm and taking care of a house and family doesn't leave much time to write.  However; somehow, I manage to work it in.  When I am not writing, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, cooking, scrapbooking, reading, entertaining and of course, traveling!

I am an active supporter and fundraiser for The American Cancer Society.  For the past 9 years, my children and I have participated in  and walked the 24-hour Relay for Life.  We also fundraise for Make a Wish and participate in the annual Rumble to the Summit, as well as supportiing their schools and various other charities.
Nick and I volunteered at our local Valley Public Television station, manning the phones with Peter Yarrow from The Mamas & The Papas.  (4/08)
